I’ve always dreamed of playing an instrument and making my own music. Growing up, I was surrounded by musicians. Both my brothers and my best friends formed rock and roll bands when we were younger.
I don’t blame my ADHD for not having learned to play—there’s always time to pick up something new, even at 45, like me now. But I can see how my tendency to drift away from learning an instrument might connect to ADHD somehow.
So here we are in 2024, and I’ve found a tool that generates music automatically.
It’ll never replace real bands and singers, and that’s not even the point!

Finding the tunes that could make them flow,
Just one more song, and then they’ll go.
Then came a snack break to feed their drive,
Certain it all could wrap up by five.

“Alex D., what’s your real aim here?
Face down that task, no snack and cheer.”
“Oh, dear friend, why can’t you see?

Procrastination’s a steep decline.
Better jump in before it’s too late,
Or you’ll be drowning in that due date.”

Trying to recall what I forgot.

Could fold the laundry, then I’m free,
But my head’s too full to let me be.

Even in silence, thoughts don’t stop,
Ideas just race, they twist and drop.
